Christmas PJs!!!

So, even though it's not really cold enough here in South Florida for his new pajamas- Brennan wore them last night, anyways. :-) He was quite cheesy for the camera.

Just wanted to say sorry that the blog is looking so horrible. I tried to start changing my layout and background- but it was too much for the time I've had lately. Hopefully I can figure it out this weekend. And here's a pic of Brennan reading in my bed last night...

Bathtime Baby!

So this evening I decided I needed to update or else it might be another 7 months. I tried to get Brennan to let me take some pics while he was playing, but he was too interested in taking the camera for himself. He was cracking me up in the shower, so I took a few shots there.
I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Here's the person I'm most thankful for...

Fight for Preemies

Baby Alexis- 10 weeks old- in her cute outfit from ME! Girls' clothes are SO CUTE!

So.... I haven't blogged in 7 months!! I know, I know... terrible. And I wasn't sure that I would blog again. There's a million things going on in my life (some good- some horrible) that I'm not going to share right now. Today- I'm blogging for my favorite preemie baby- Alexis Marie Alfred! Today is "Fight for Preemies" day with the March of Dimes, and one way to get word out is to blog about it. Alexis is the baby of my teaching partner in crime- Jenn. She was born on September 2, 2009 (14 weeks premature!)- weighing in at 1lb, 7oz. Alexis has been such a fighter since day 1- just like her mama! She now weighs a whopping 4 lbs, 6 oz, is breathing on her own, in an open bed, and taking many feedings by bottle! With all hope- she'll be going home next week! This little girl is truly amazing and so strong. And so are her parents. Jenn & Ryan have been amazing inspirations to me as a mom. I can not imagine going through all of this. I can't wait til she gets bigger and Brennan can start teaching her all of his tricks.

And because I can't blog and not do a little update about Brennan- he's one month from being 2! Aaah! He's turned into a regular kid and makes me laugh on an hourly basis! The picture is of him drawing a card for Gigi's birthday this past weekend. I'll update soon and more often- I promise!

First Haircut!!

I took Brennan to get his first real haircut Friday afternoon. I walked around the mall for a while until I finally settled on the MasterCuts. At first Brennan was intrigued and sat nicely while the woman buzzed his hair. That lasted all of about 1 minute. Then he was moving all around so he ended up in my lap and I ended up COVERED in hair! Luckily it all turned out alright and he didn't lose an ear. Now he's got a nice short big boy haircut. Where's my baby?!

Sort of sitting nicely.

Afterward, playing in the backyard. I love the new short do.

A little cleaning and a little reading

So... I know it's been FOREVER since my last post. And I have some great pics from the Holidays and from the past couple of weeks, but I can't download from the camera right now. But here are a couple from last night with the phone.

I discovered last night that Brennan likes the Swiffer. I put a cloth on it and he pushed it around for about 10 minutes. I LOVE IT!

Brennan LOVES to books! He "reads" all the time. I guess that's a good thing since I'll be making him do it all the time soon enough.

Brennan is growing a developing SO fast! He's walking/running and climbing. Loves to open and close doors- although this gets him stuck in rooms sometimes and he loves to close the refrigerator. His latest "tricks" are animal sounds and learning body parts. There are definitely days when he gets mixed up- and that's always funny. But he knows nose, hair, belly button, tongue, teeth, toes. He can also tell you that a duck (and all birds) say "kack" and cows say "boo" and trumpets like an elephant (arm motion and all). Learning lots of names and words. He's just so awesome to be around!! :)
